✓ What’s Working Well

  • TCC hit a record 23,016 as at 17 Aug — +2,868 (+14.2%) YoY vs 20,148, and +912 (+4.1%) MoM vs 22,104. Highest closing base in the three-year series.
  • FYTD GTV $2,562,206 vs $2,196,112 PY — +366,093 (+16.7%). Revenue is growing faster than the connection base, so ARPU mix is working.
  • FYTD activations 2,987 vs 2,690 PY — +297 (+11.0%).
  • FYTD sales (GA4) 2,784 vs 2,453 PY — +331 (+13.5%), closely tracking activations.
  • Yesterday sales 75 vs 16 PY (+368.8%) and 49 a month ago (+53.1%) — a strong single-day order intake.
  • MTD GTV $975,639 vs $840,419 PY — +135,220 (+16.1%), despite invoice data only being settled to 14 Aug.
  • MTD disconnections 146 vs 379 PY — -233 (-61.5%) on the invoice-cycle measure (a floor on both sides, so directionally favourable rather than exact).
  • Gold+ now carries the book: 667 of 955 MTD activations (69.8%) and 6,933 of the TCC base. The tier did not exist a year ago.

⚠ What Needs Watching

  • Yesterday activations 26 (data date 16 Aug — LAD) vs 51 PY (-49.0%) and 65 a month ago (-60.0%). 16 Aug was a Sunday, so a soft print is expected, but the YoY gap is wide.
  • MTD activations 955 are running -208 (-17.9%) behind the equivalent period of July (1,163). July was an exceptionally strong month, but the month-on-month step down is real.
  • MTD GTV is -47,803 (-4.7%) MoM ($975,639 vs $1,023,443 for 1–17 Jul). This is a billing-cycle timing effect — invoices are only settled through 14 Aug — not a revenue decline.
  • Derived yesterday disconnections resolve to 0 for CY, PY and MoM. Because TCC is reconstructed as PTCC + activations from the same BigQuery snapshot, the formula nets to zero. Treat as not-meaningful rather than a genuine zero-churn day — true figures pending the SQL Server source. (Data-freshness caveat: overnight invoice arrivals can push TCC_EOP above PTCC + activations, producing a nil or negative result.)
  • Disconnections on MTD and FYTD are a floor, not a true count — the invoice-cycle method needs a 45-day settlement window, so the most recent ~6 weeks of churn is structurally understated on both CY and PY.
  • Yesterday GTV is $0 across CY, PY and MoM. No invoices were issued 15–17 Aug; the latest invoice date is 14 Aug. Daily GTV is not a usable signal on this tab.
  • Silver has collapsed: 57 MTD activations vs 411 PY (-86.1%). Expected given the Gold+ migration, but worth monitoring the blended ARPU and any churn concentration in the legacy Silver base (8,068 connections).
  • FYTD disconnections 1,058 vs 1,123 PY (-5.8%) — improved, but on a base that is 14% larger, so the absolute churn load is roughly flat.

(3) Sales sourced from GA4 (Ecommerce purchases: Item name report). All other metrics from BigQuery.
(a) Disconnections derived formula: Activations + PTCC − TCC. CY: 26 + 22990 − 23016 = 0. PY: 51 + 20097 − 20148 = 0. MoM: 65 + 22039 − 22104 = 0. PTCC (CY) from the Google Sheet; PTCC (PY) and PTCC (MoM) from BigQuery (settled historical data). A nil or negative result indicates BigQuery invoice data arrived overnight causing TCC_EOP to meet or exceed PTCC + activations — this is a data-freshness artefact, not a genuine zero-churn day, so it is rendered in neutral grey. True figures pending SQL Server source ([KOG_DATAWAREHOUSE].[VHA].[T_KGN_INTERNET_TOTALS_DAILY_HISTORY]).
(5) PTCC_CY = previous day’s published TCC (from Google Sheet: TCC Calc). PTCC_PY and PTCC_MoM computed from BigQuery using report_date = YEST_PY−1 and MOM_YEST−1 respectively. Disconnections (yesterday) = Activations + PTCC − TCC.
Activations carry a one-day data lag; CY uses the Latest Activation Date (LAD = 16 Aug 2026).

Disconnections use invoice-cycle churn (LEAD on customer invoice dates, 45-day gap threshold, attributed to invoice date + 35 days). The 45-day settlement window means the most recent weeks are structurally understated on both CY and PY — treat as a floor.

(4) GTV anomaly adjustment (March 2025 bulk-rebill, raw $21.26M) is not applied this run — no comparison period in FY27 to date covers March 2025. The adjustment remains active for the TCC + GTV chart.
FYTD = 1 July of the financial year containing the report date, through the report date, inclusive.

TCC + GTV — monthly trend

Blue line = end-of-month TCC (left axis); green bars = monthly GTV ex-GST (right axis). The final point/bar (orange) is today, 18 Aug 2026 — TCC as at the latest available data and month-to-date GTV.
* Mar 25: the raw March 2025 GTV of $21,255,577 reflects a one-off bulk-rebill event. It has been substituted with the April 2025 full-month GTV ($1,239,536) to keep the series comparable.

3-Year Trends

The monthly sales state file was not present on this sandbox and has been re-bootstrapped. Chart A currently shows 2 real GA4 months (Nov 2023 and Aug 2026 MTD); the remainder are BigQuery activation estimates that will be replaced with real GA4 figures at one month per daily run.

A · Monthly Sales (GA4) — last 37 months

34/37 months populated · Nov 2023+ from real GA4 once backfilled, with BigQuery × 0.93 estimates as a stop-gap (light blue). Dark blue = real GA4 actuals. Current month (amber) is GA4 MTD through 17 Aug 2026. One additional month is backfilled with real GA4 data each daily run.

B · Monthly Connections (Activations) — last 36 months

Source: BigQuery (fct_kogan_nbn_orders, NbnActivationDate). Current month (amber) is partial, through 16 Aug 2026.

C · Quarterly Connections (Activations)

Source: BigQuery. The final bar (amber) is the quarter to date.

D · Monthly Activations by Plan Tier

Stacked by tier. Gold+ launched September 2025 and now accounts for roughly 70% of monthly activations, displacing Silver and Gold.

E · TCC by Plan Tier

Stacked area, same NIC + PIC formula as the TCC + GTV chart. 36 historical month-ends plus a final ‘Today’ point. Shows the Silver base declining while Gold+ scales.
